User feedback at the touch of a button. Ad-hoc testing allows you to run tests immediately, without the hassle of scheduling or long waits.
What are ad-hoc tests?
Ad-hoc tests are moderated live tests or interviews that you can conduct immediately.
Once you have booked the ad-hoc test, you can start immediately by clicking 'Test Now'.
The test will then appear at the top of the test overview for all testers. Usually there are about 20–30 testers online, so the test can start within a few minutes.
What are the limitations of ad-hoc tests?
Because ad-hoc tests do not contain any requirements, any tester can take part in them.
This means that although they can be carried out very quickly, no specific target groups are involved and the results may therefore be less accurate. However, many questions (especially usability questions) can be answered by testers who are not 100% representative of the target group.
How do ad-hoc tests work?
Book your ad-hoc test using the 'Create New Test' button in your account:
You can choose how long you want the test or interview to be:
- 5-15 minutes
- 15-30 minutes
- 30-45 minutes
You can also give the test a name.
Credits will only be deducted when you click 'Test Now':
Now you need to get ready, because your test can start at any time.
As with moderated tests, viewers can also join ad-hoc tests. Simply click 'Add members' in the test overview.
Once a participant joins the session, the process is similar to a normal moderated test. The microphone check will appear, and a virtual room will be created for the session - this can take around 3 minutes.
The resulting video is also uploaded to the client account and can be analysed in the tool.
Don't worry, if no one shows up to take part in the session, the credits will be automatically refunded within 1 hour.
